Licensed to practice social work in Florida (LCSW # 11113), I have a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut (1998), a master's degree in English (Middlebury College 1987) and a doctoral degree (University of Massachusetts 1992) in English and American literature.
I have worked extensively with children, families and faculty in school settings, in private practice and in community mental health. I have been the Director of Counseling at The Berkshire School (2000-2002), at Miss Porter's School (2002-2012) and also worked at The Hotchkiss School (1990-1996), both as a teacher, and as a Dean. I currently maintain a private practice in Osprey, Florida.
My work in private practice, in schools and as a child and adolescent clinician at Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services of the Berkshires (a community mental health clinic) includes extensive experience with individuals of all ages, and with families and couples. I take a solution-focused, strength-based approach and have extensive training and experience in mindfulness-based and cognitive behavioral strategies for helping people improve the quality of their lives.
